Teach Yourself Programming in Ten Years

A very long time ago, when C was up and coming, I was browsing in a bookstore at the local mall. A man walked into the store and asked the clerk if they had any books about C because he started a new job in a couple of days and thought he could learn C over a weekend. That’s why we’re in such a hurry.

Teach Yourself Programming in Ten Years: “The conclusion is that either people are in a big rush to learn about computers, or that computers are somehow fabulously easier to learn than anything else. There are no books on how to learn Beethoven, or Quantum Physics, or even Dog Grooming in a few days.”
