Thomas Sowell on Global Warming

Thomas Sowell on Global Warming on National Review Online
“What is even scarier than seeing how easily the public, the media, and the politicians have been manipulated and stampeded, is discovering how much effort has been put into silencing scientists who dare to say that the emperor has no clothes.”

A nice summary of “The Great Global Warming Swindle” video.

Hey, isn’t this the film where one of the participants claimed he was duped?

In fact, this scientist said the following about this film:

Carl Wunsch, professor of physical oceanography at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said the film, The Great Global Warming Swindle, was ‘grossly distorted’ and ‘as close to pure propaganda as anything since World War Two’.

    All I know are:

    a) co2 is a greenhouse gas (look up Venus if you forgot grade school)
    b) human beings are dumping incredible amounts of the stuff into the atmosphere

Now, I’m not a climate scientist – but I’m also not stupid. Figure it out.

Yes, it is the film in which scientists claim their names were included among the 2,500 “scientists” that support the conclusions of the IPCC report on global warming, when, in fact, they didn’t. But you don’t care about that because it doesn’t affirm what you want to believe.

Undeniably, CO2 is a green house gas. No one disputes that. Had you acutally watched the film, you’d be exposed to facts that dispute your conclusion (which, I suspect, is why you didn’t watch it. ) Natural sources of CO2 contribute far more to the total amount of CO2 in the atmosphere (95% of which is water vapor) than people do. There is evidence that greenhouse gases acutally follow temperture fluctuations, not drive them. The single most contributor to global warming is the increase in solar activity.

The sun is the source of heat. When solar activity increases, temperatures go up. Figure it out.

No I didn’t watch the film. Haven’t read Mein Kampf either.

  4. Jeff Says:

Then you are relying on others to discount the film for you. You may not be stupid, but that is a foolish thing to do.
